INTRODUCTION
Our Lord Jesus describes two ways we can build:
a. On sand; An unstable foundation.
b. Upon a rock; A stable foundation.
1. Why must the house be built on the rock?
2. How can you build your Christian life on the rock?
Scriptures:
Luke
6:46-49
46 "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?
47 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into
practice, I will show you what they are like. 48 They are like a man building a
house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came,
the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well
built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is
like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the
torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
1 Cor. 3:10
10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise
builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with
care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which
is Jesus Christ.
James1:19-25
19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be
quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger
does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of
all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word
planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.
Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

repercussions.
Mathew7:26-27
26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them
into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain
came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house,
and it fell with a great crash."
